Spotlight:Devon Energy in the New Mexico portions
of the San Juan and Permian Basins

Devon Energy Corporation received a 2008 BLM BMP Award for implementing BMPs on leases in the New Mexico portions of the San Juan and Permian Basins including, but not limited to, drilling multiple wells from a single pads while conducting intensive interim reclamation. Devon also uses an infrared camera to detect potential methane leaks, and employs a closed-loop drilling system to eliminate the need for drilling mud pits.
